KUCHING, 19 April – Her Most Gracious Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd. Sanusi today officiated the 2025 World Thinking Day celebration for Girl Guides, held at the Sarawak state level. The event was organized by the Girl Guides Association of Malaysia (PPM) Sarawak Branch.
Upon her arrival in Kuching this morning, the wife of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak immediately proceeded to the Sheraton Hotel to attend the event.
Her arrival was warmly welcomed by the senior leadership of the Sarawak Branch of Girl Guides, including YBrs. Puan Ruth Sibat, Chief Commissioner of the Branch; YBhg. Datuk Hajah Dayang Morliah binti Datuk Haji Awang Daud, President; and YBrs. Puan Annie Sim, Deputy President of PPM Sarawak.
This year's celebration carried the theme "Our Story," in line with the global World Thinking Day theme set by the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). The theme highlights the importance of nurturing young female leadership, strengthening unity, and inspiring the next generation with valuable lessons.
During the joyous ceremony, YABhg. Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi lit a candle alongside all the members, marking the official opening of the 2025 World Thinking Day celebration at the Sarawak level.
Also present to enliven the occasion were YBrs. Encik John Lim Boon Beng, Chief Commissioner of the Sarawak Scouts; representatives from the Sarawak State Education Department; members of the Executive Board of PPM Sarawak; and over 200 Girl Guides from schools around Kuching, including SMK St. Mary, SMK St. Teresa, SK Matu Baru, and SMK Matang Jaya.
YABhg. Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi expressed her deep appreciation to all members of PPM Sarawak for their dedication and commitment in making this celebration a success. She hopes that the Sarawak Branch of PPM will continue to nurture high-quality, competitive, and resilient female leaders who contribute to the development of the state and the beloved nation.
